Description

Enchanting gardeners with its fragrance and violet-purple halo encircling each flower centre, this charming pansy combines delicate beauty with reliable performance across the cooler seasons. The soft white upper petals display subtle lilac tints, whilst lower petals fade gracefully from blush pink to rich magenta-purple towards the centre. Viola Sorbet XP Pink Halo forms neat mounds with small toothed green foliage providing an attractive backdrop. The golden yellow blotches surrounded by deep purple whisker-like lines add striking contrast to each bloom. Flowering from late winter through spring, this fragrant perennial, commonly grown as a cooler season decorative annual, attracts butterflies whilst thriving in sunny or partially shaded positions. Perfect for containers and pots where the delightful scent can be fully appreciated. Pot-grown plants can be planted out or potted up into compost or well-drained, humus-rich soil that is neither frozen nor prone to waterlogging. Keep watered, and feed with a high potash fertiliser (such as Tomorite) on a regular basis. Pinching off the spent flowers will encourage more to form. Protect young plants from slug and snail damage using natural pellets or alternative methods available in our slug and snail control selection. Position: Full sun / light shade Soil: Moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, or peat-free general purpose compost Rate of growth: Fast-growing Flowering period: February to May Hardiness: Fully hardy
