Designed for heavy-duty tasks, the flail mower is built to handle conditions where a standard rotary mower wouldn't be suitable. Its 28 hammer-type steel flails are staggered across 4 rows, delivering a clean, complete cut across a generous 1.2m cutting width — and unlike rotary mowers, if a flail strikes an immovable object, it simply bounces back rather than throwing debris outward. This makes it well-suited for roadside verges, fields and paddocks where long grass, weeds, brambles and nettles need to be maintained. Powered by an 18HP Lifan engine with a recoil hand pull start, this mower is built for reliable, consistent performance across demanding terrain. The seamless steel pipe rotor and belt wheel drive system provide a sturdy, dependable cutting mechanism, while the anti-scalping roller protects uneven ground during use. The quick offset drawbar makes hitching straightforward to any suitable ATV, 4x4, or small tractor using a standard ball hitch. Cutting height is fully adjustable from 0–20cm to suit different grass conditions, and the tubeless grass tyres (16x6.5-8) ensure stable tracking across varied terrain. Please note: Delivered palletised in a metal cage. An angle grinder is required to remove cage packaging prior to use. For best results, always begin at the slowest forward speed with the engine running at maximum RPM. Forward speed can range from 1 kph in very heavy conditions to 10 kph in light use — if the engine struggles, raise the cutting height and slow down immediately. Consider making two passes in very heavy growth, leaving at least 24 hours between cuts. After heavy use, run the machine at half working speed while stationary for at least 4 minutes to cool the drive belts. Failure to follow this guidance may cause serious damage to the clutch and drive belts.
